Some recent Netflix productions I’ve watched have pleasantly surprised me. I wasn’t particularly drawn to The Perfect Couple based on its trailers; I assumed it was a White Lotus knockoff. But when I sat down to watch it as a light choice, it exceeded my expectations.
The show conveyed an important message: true happiness and authenticity can be found when a family accepts its flaws instead of trying to paint a picture of perfection. Its focus on friendship was especially meaningful to me, as I deeply value shows that celebrate the sanctity of friendships.
The story came full circle, offering a satisfying narrative arc. While it might have been on the lighter side as a crime drama, it delivered an enjoyable, snackable experience. Witty interrogations, twists with suspects constantly shifting, small surprises, and a killer who truly wasn’t obvious at first glance all contributed to an entertaining watch.
