No Good Deed: A fun and heartfelt series that portrays the challenges of confronting losses

Some things cannot be left behind; it’s not easy to move forward with what we’ve lost. We feel pulled from our hair, arms, necks—everywhere—and so we keep taking steps in place, unable to truly move.

Sometimes, the things we’ve hidden away in a dark corner continue to grow, even if we refuse to face them. The more we avoid confronting them, the more we feel like we’re drowning, lost in an enormous balloon.

This might stem from not knowing how to cope with a loss that causes us deep pain. The unspoken words inside us grow larger, and holding back what needs to be said weighs us down.

Sometimes, life pushes us to face reality through breaking points or the exposure of buried secrets. In those moments, just as we’re about to fall off a cliff, life throws us a branch to cling to. And later, we realize that healing began thanks to the people close to us, those we know love us.

No Good Deed is a Netflix series I started to watch for fun. Although I struggled to get through some parts, I’m glad I stuck with it until the end. It’s a refreshing show for those who want to watch something light but meaningful, thought-provoking without being condescending.

Lisa Kudrow as Lydia Morgan and Ray Romano as Paul Morgan play a married couple looking to sell their home, one filled with both beautiful and painful memories. However, family secrets tied to the house and the lives of potential buyers complicate everything. No Good Deed is a comedy-drama full of characters and intertwined stories, offering both laughs and touching moments.
